Job summary

Boundarycountyid is hiring for a TEMPORARY FILL IN POSITION in the Solid Waste department. The role involves visually examining incoming waste and directing the public to the appropriate dump area, while keeping the site clean and accessible to the public.

Hours are part-time and fill-in as needed, and work may occur at various transfer sites with varying hours and locations. Responsibilities include directing vehicles, inspecting cargo for hazardous materials, and maintaining site cleanliness

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of work related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and directs incoming vehicles to designated dumping areas.
• Examines cargo to prohibit disposal of caustic waste, according to government regulations.
• Inspects to maintain that the waste being brought in is not hazardous to people or equipment.
• Monitor & visually inspect incoming vehicles to ensure only appropriate materials are being disposed of at site.
• Maintain cleanliness of dump site area - e.g. clean garbage around bins, clean snow around recycle bins and maintain general area visible to the public.
• Perform waste stream studies - e.g. monitor license plates and/or numbers.
• Performs general labor and duties as assigned.
