Job summary

Hopedale Medical Complex in Illinois is seeking a Retail Pharmacy Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our hospital-owned retail pharmacy. This role blends hands-on patient care with strong leadership within a community-focused rural healthcare setting.

You will mentor staff, ensure safe dispensing, optimize workflow, and maintain regulatory compliance while collaborating with clinicians to improve access and affordability of medications for our patients.

Qualifications

• PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in Illinois or eligibility.
• Three+ years in pharmacy practice, preferably retail.
• Knowledge of pharmacy operations, safety, and regulations.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Balance direct patient care with leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily retail pharmacy operations, including dispensing and workflow.
• Provide prescription verification and patient counseling.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and staff.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and safety standards.
• Oversee inventory, purchasing, storage, and cost management.
• Monitor performance, volume, reimbursement, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement policies and improve processes.
• Build relationships with providers, staff, patients, and community partners.
• Support medication access and affordability for transition-of-care patients.
• Promote a positive team environment focused on service excellence.
