Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public administration, or related field; 3–5 years experience or Master’s degree with up to 3 years experience.
• Experience linking policy research to action and evidence-based policy solutions.
• Strong ability to analyze, synthesize, and translate complex information into actionable insights.
• Experience identifying national best practices and evaluating evidence-based approaches.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present complex information clearly.
• Familiarity with rural issues, place-based philanthropy, community development or public systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct policy research and analysis on rural children, families, and communities.
• Monitor policy developments at local, state, and national levels and assess implications for rural areas.
• Identify best practices and assess applicability to rural contexts.
• Gather and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions.
• Develop research products to support systems change and learning.
• Ensure research complies with private foundation ethics and non-lobbying guidelines.
