Job summary

Hereford Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to evaluate, plan, and administer therapy across outpatient and inpatient settings. The role emphasizes compassionate rural care, strong patient relationships, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The position supports a 45-minute treatment cadence, with daily sessions from 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, a one-hour lunch, and occasional weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current Texas Occupational Therapist license or eligibility.
• Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and reassessments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and physician orders.
• Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to improve functional independence and quality of life.
• Treat patients with orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, developmental, and medically complex conditions.
• Educate patients and caregivers on functional strategies, home programs, and safety recommendations.
• Document evaluations, treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapy colleagues, case management, and other professionals.
• Participate in discharge planning and care coordination activities.
• Monitor and assist with therapy authorization timelines to support uninterrupted care.
• Maintain compliance with standards of practice and organizational guidelines.
• Contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives and team development.
