Job summary

InReach Rehab is seeking a flexible, dedicated Occupational Therapist (or COTA) to join our team at Houlton Regional Hospital in Houlton, Maine. Full-time or part-time roles welcome, with a focus on helping patients regain independence in a collaborative rural setting.

The compensation package includes competitive wages, a monthly incentive plan, CEU allowance, and generous time off. New graduates are encouraged to apply; salary is based on experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
• Current Maine OT license or eligibility upon graduation.
• Strong clinical reasoning and evaluation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and functional outcomes.
• Experience or interest in rural healthcare.
• Willingness to supervise COTAs and collaborate with the team.
• Strong documentation and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluations to determine patient needs and goals.
• Develop individualized treatment plans to improve independence and function.
• Implement interventions addressing ADLs, IADLs, strength, cognition, and mobility.
• Fabricate or recommend adaptive equipment and train patients/caregivers.
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries timely.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals for coordinated care.
• Supervise and mentor COTAs and guide treatment plans.
• Monitor responses and adjust interventions for outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on strategies and home programs.
• Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and quality initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and contribute to team culture.
