Job summary

CVHS is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive medical care and preventive services. You will assess patients, plan care, prescribe medications, and maintain thorough medical records in collaboration with physicians and the CVHS team.

Applicants must hold Virginia RN licensure and NP certification, with experience in public or community health. Rural living is encouraged, with flexible after-hours coverage as needed to support patient-centered care.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensed as an RN in the State of Virginia.
Graduate of an approved program for Adult, Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioners.
Certification as an Adult, Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner as required by Virginia.

Responsibilities

Provides comprehensive nursing and medical care to patients and their families when indicated.
Assesses physical and emotional needs and plans delivery of health care services.
Prescribes and dispenses medications per protocol and state licensure.
Directs, organizes and participates in preventive health programs and immunizations.
Maintains complete medical records in a problem-oriented format.
Collaborates with physicians and CVHS health professionals in patient care.
