Job summary

The Morrow County Health District is seeking an Occasional Part-Time Medical Laboratory Technologist/MLT or MLS to join the Pioneer Memorial Hospital laboratory in Heppner, Oregon. This role performs a broad range of testing and specimen collection in a rural critical access hospital setting serving both inpatient and outpatient populations.

Responsibilities include testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and blood bank; phlebotomy; processing and reporting results; quality

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related program.
• Meets CLIA ’88 requirements for testing personnel.
• Current ASCP certification as MLT (or equivalent).
• Ability to work independently in a small rural hospital environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and blood bank.
• Collect blood specimens and perform phlebotomy procedures.
• Process, analyze, and report laboratory results accurately and promptly.
• Perform quality control procedures and instrument maintenance.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and testing issues.
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and facility policies.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours laboratory coverage.
• Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to support patient care.
