Job summary

Farm Credit Mid-America is seeking a Rural 1st Construction Specialist to support construction loan activities from budget setup to disbursement. The role emphasizes collaboration with borrowers, builders, inspectors, and internal teams to deliver a smooth construction lending experience in line with Rural 1st guidelines.

Ideal candidates will have an existing NMLS registration or ability to obtain one, plus experience in construction lending and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Requires existing NMLS registration under the SAFE Act or ability to obtain it upon hire.
• Experience with construction loan processes, disbursements, inspections, and draws.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.
• Ability to coordinate with borrowers, builders, inspectors, and internal partners.

Responsibilities

• Activates construction loans by setting up loan budgets, disbursement systems, and files.
• Reviews, analyzes, approves, and disburses construction loan draws with inspections and change orders.
• Coordinates with borrowers, builders, inspectors, and internal partners to keep projects on schedule.
• Monitors budgets, reserves, and insurance; reports issues and supports timely resolution.
• Maintains complete, accurate documentation and records for loan servicing.
