Farm Credit Mid-America - Rural 1st Loan Officer

Rural 1st provides tailored lending solutions for land, construction, and home loans for rural living.

Location: Central California, near Livermore, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Lodi, or Sacramento
Schedule: Remote, Full-Time
Travel: 50%-75% across counties including San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, Sacramento, San Joaquin, El Dorado.

Compensation: $58,795 - $137,777 base salary plus variable pay, based on skills, experience, and location. Additional compensation outside this range may be provided for bona fide reasons.

The Rural 1st Loan Officer (RLO) is responsible for building customer relationships, originating credit, and managing loan processes, including assessment, approval, and servicing, with a focus on the consumer market segment.

This role requires existing NMLS registration under the SAFE Act or the ability to obtain it upon hire, maintaining good standing throughout employment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Sales & Relationship Management: Develops and maintains professional relationships to increase market share, primarily working out of the office to meet clients and prospects, providing financial guidance aligned with customer goals.
  2. Sound Credit Delivery: Gathers and evaluates financial information, recommends loan terms, and communicates decisions effectively, ensuring compliance with lending standards.
  3. Service Portfolio: Collaborates with teams on disbursements, servicing, and risk management, ensuring excellent customer service and portfolio health.
  4. Core Values: Upholds the mission and values of Farm Credit Mid-America, adhering to conduct, security, and confidentiality policies.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, or related fields, with preferred experience of 5+ years handling complex customer needs and credits.

Mental & Physical Requirements
