Job description

A client with Kforce is seeking an Runtime Analytics Engineer to join their team. This is a remote position, and the resource must be able to work EST hours.Summary:The Runtime Analytics Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining systems that collect, process, and analyze real-time performance and operational data from software applications and systems. This role focuses on providing actionable insights into system behavior, identifying performance bottlenecks, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring the stability and efficiency of production environments. The Runtime Analytics Engineer will work with various monitoring tools, data visualization platforms, and data processing technologies to deliver critical insights to development, operations, and product teams.Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage data pipelines for collecting real-time runtime metrics, logs, and traces
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports to visualize system performance, identify anomalies, and track key operational metrics
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, predict potential issues, and provide recommendations for system optimization and improvement
  • Collaborate with development teams to instrument applications for effective data collection and integrate analytics capabilities into software products
  • Work with operations teams to troubleshoot production issues using collected runtime data and ensure system reliability
  • Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies for runtime monitoring, logging, and analytics
  • Document technical designs, processes, and analytical methodologies
  • Contribute to defining best practices for system observability and performance analysis
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience with real-time data collection and processing systems (e.g., Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming)
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Grafana, Kibana, Tableau, Splunk)
  • Experience with monitoring frameworks and tools (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic, AppDynamics)
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, Scala)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of system performance metrics, distributed systems, and microservices architectures
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
