Carver Road Hospitality in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a Food Runner to support its award-winning dining and nightlife venues. You will set up stations, deliver food, describe dishes, and work closely with chefs and front-of-house teams to ensure guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has prior hospitality experience in high-volume settings, can stand for long periods, and thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality experience in high-volume restaurant/lounge.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and carrying trays and delivering food from the kitchen to the guest.
• Describing food items to the guest and assisting the Chef in organizing the line.
• Polishing utensils, maintaining station cleanliness, and restocking as needed.
• Ensuring timely delivery of all food and communicating guest needs to FOH and BOH.

Whether behind the scenes or on the dining room floor, every team member plays an essential role in bringing our brands to life.Join an award-winning hospitality group and become part of a team shaping some of New York City's most exciting dining, cocktail, and nightlife destinations.We look forward to welcoming the next generation of hospitality talent to the Carver Road Hospitality family.Position SummaryThe Food Runner is responsible for setting up and carrying trays and delivering food from the kitchen to the guest, describing food items to the guest, assisting the Chef in organizing the line.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPolishing utensils, steak knives, and plates, and restock runner and kitchen stations.Assure guests have everything they need on the tables after delivery of food.Ensures the timely delivery of all food to the guests.Announce the dish and describe the ingredients and preparation in detail to the guests.Inquire any allergy or dietary restrictions from each guest served.Possesses in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus and the Company.Performing tableside service and French serving.Protects establishment, guests, and employees by adhering to Department of Health & Company sanitation standards.Communicates the needs of the guests to Front of House and Back of House support staff, managers, and chefs.Properly sets-up and break down runner station and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management.Attends and participates in daily pre-service meetings.Updates knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities.Works as part of a team and provides help and support to all employees.Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the Employee Handbook.Anticipate and accommodate the needs of the guests while providing professional and exceptional service to ensure guests satisfaction.Maintain general cleanliness of assigned stations and the entire venue.Our Ideal CandidatePrevious hospitality experience in high-volume restaurant/lounge.Must be able to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods of time.Must be able to bend and left up to 50 lbs.Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion.Exposure to hot kitchen elements of cleaning materials.Must be able to work and remain focused in fast-paced and ever-changing environment.Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.As an important member of our team, you’ll be eligible for:Health, Dental, and Vision insuranceCompetitive payThis is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, requirements or working conditions associated with the job.
