Job summary

The Glenridge on Palmer Ranch in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Busser/Runner to support servers and maintain dining areas for Members and guests. The role emphasizes cleanliness, proper table setup, and rapid beverage delivery to ensure top-quality service.

You will work under supervision, perform opening/closing duties, and follow all sanitation and safety protocols while providing empathetic, friendly customer care in a senior-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Serve Safe Certification preferred or obtainable.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to a senior population.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and setup of tables with china, glassware, linens.
• Assist servers by delivering beverages and pre-bussing tables.
• Complete opening/closing duties and follow side-work checklist.
• Provide service during servers' absence and handle guest requests.
• Adhere to sanitation, safety, and privacy protocols and report issues.

Position Summary:

The Busser /Runner is responsible for assisting the servers in providing the highest quality service possible to Members and guests at The Glenridge on Palmer Ranch (GPR) while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. The Busser/Runner ensures that all tables are kept clean and presentable with clean china, glassware, silverware and linen. Works under the direction of the Dining Room Supervisor, Lead Servers and/or Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Keeps all work areas clean and properly stocked according to the current mean period.
• Keeps all tables cleaned and properly set according to property specific standards.
• Breaks down trays of soiled dishes and linen in the dish room area according to established standards.
• Assists servers by delivering and refilling beverages, pre-bussing tables, and promptly resolving any guest requests.
• Completes daily opening and closing duties and cleaning according to established side-work checklist.
• Provides service to guests in server’s absence as needed.
• Adheres to all departmental policies and procedures including, but not limited to, sanitation and food handling protocols, safety, and incident/accident reporting.
• Attends and participates in department meeting and in-service training as requested.
• Maintains confidentiality of members’ PHI (Protected Health Information) and medical records information as well.
• Other various duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Three months experience preferred.
• Must have current Serve Safe Certification or can get one.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Skill in understanding of computer software as it relates to the job.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must be empathetic, enthusiastic and have an affinity for working with a diverse senior population.
