Job summary

Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano in Deer Park, IL seeks a part-time Food Runner to deliver orders swiftly and accurately from kitchen to table. You will act as a liaison between front and back of house, ensuring accuracy, safety, and timely service.

The role requires flexibility for weekends/evenings/holidays, strong communication, and the physical stamina to lift up to 35 lbs in a fast-paced dining environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety standards and proper food temperatures.
• Assist with side work and station setup.

Food Runner Responsibilities

Food Runner responsibilities include but are not limited to delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately, ensuring that the highest quality of food presentation is maintained, acting as the point-of-contact between Front of the House and Back of the House staff, communicating food orders, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies), ensuring food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature), answering guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items, side work, and station set-up.

Food Runner Skills & Qualifications

• Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Good oral communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.
• Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and/or plates and stand for long hours.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
