Summary of Job Description

A Cali-Baja inspired upscale and luxury restaurant is taken into the new era with a modern approach to fresh food and beverage. A Bartender crafts and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Responsibilities include supporting the servers and other bartenders, preparing cocktails, taking drink orders, interacting with customers, and ensuring a positive experience. Bartenders must possess knowledge of various drink recipes, maintain bar cleanliness, restock supplies, and adhere to alcohol service regulations. Strong communication, mixology skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are crucial for this role.

The hourly rate for this position is $17.25

Education/Experience

  • Minimum 1 year experience in hotels, banquets, or events.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education required.

Work Hours

  • Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs.
  • Scheduling includes holidays, nights, and weekends depending on hotel events and functions.

Job Requirements

  • Knowledgeable of beverages, recipes, and correct glassware and garnishes.
  • Knowledgeable and ensure compliance with all state liquor regulations.
  • Understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel.
  • Must be able to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task efficiently.
  • Must be able to speak, understand, and communicate the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must possess excellent communication, follow-up, and organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to push, pull, bend, squat, and lift on a regular basis.
  • Safety requirements of PPE as needed for duty assigned and with use of required tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy; prioritize, organize, and follow up.
  • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
  • Follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurants, in accordance with service standards.
  • Anticipate Guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all Guests, making recommendations based on guests’ preferences.
  • Take Guests’ food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
  • Complete opening duties as assigned, including checking quality and quantity of all bar stock and supplies using a checklist.
  • Requisition all necessary supplies and transport from storeroom to bar.
  • Set bar according to service standards.
  • Set up all condiments (garnishes, juices, etc.) and beverages according to standards.
  • Prepare all fresh fruit garnishes according to service standards.
  • Ensure a sufficient supply of all flatware, glassware, and chinaware for service.
  • Ensure cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas.
  • Set up side stations with supplies and equipment.
  • Record orders of guests into the point-of-sale system and receive payment following service procedures.
  • Adhere to payment, cash handling, and credit policies.
  • Open wine/champagne bottles and serve in accordance with service standards.
  • Retrieve food orders from the kitchen.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
  • Guide the activities of the bar back to ensure optimum service to Guests.
  • Remove soiled wares from the bar. Clean and wipe down the bar immediately after the Guest departs.
  • Collect and report tips at the end of the assigned shift.
  • Complete closing duties and reports as assigned and leave duty after reporting to the supervisor or Manager on Duty.
  • Must be TIPS and Food Safety certified as required.
  • Follow 4 Keys service standards, standard operation procedures, and safety standards.
  • Follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve all standards of operations.
  • Follow safety and security procedures.
  • Work cohesively with co-workers and all departments as part of a team.
  • Adhere to attendance and reliability standards.
  • Follow all additional duties as assigned by management.
