Job description

Location: Queens, NY; Onsite for first 4-6 months, then hybrid 3/week

Schedule: 7 hr days (35 hrs per week) with 1 hr for lunch

Must be local to NY Area

Responsibilities:

• Develop secure, web-centric applications for employees and external stakeholders using a variety of frameworks, especially Ruby on Rails
• Work with the business users to assist in developing application requirements and in writing end-user documentation
• Work in a test-driven development environment using a variety of tools to create automated test scripts to perform unit and regression testing
• Recognize data quality and consistency errors and recommend solutions to resolve them
• Develop close working relationships with team members to enhance everyone's technical capabilities
• Debug and troubleshoot existing distributed-systems applications
• Provide level-two application support for front-line support staff
