This is a full-time community-based role with travel around the Greater Kelowna Area

Salary range: $35.00-$45.00 for IC Kin; $65.00-$80.00 for IC OT

As a RTW Coordinator, you will:

  • Be proficient in review of medical-legal documents, including physician and therapist reporting, referral documents, and clinical notes.
  • Complete on-site functional assessments, identifying barriers between worker functional level, and employer job demands.
  • Draft and collaborate return-to-work plans with workers, employers and other clinical stakeholders.
  • Monitor and support clients as they engage and progress with return-to-work plans, by tailoring the plan to suit the client and employer need and resources.
  • Provide on-site, in-person, education/skills training to clients and employers to support safe and sustainable return to work goals.
  • Be flexible with travel throughout the greater area, with competitive mileage rates provided within the compensation structure.
  • Provide regular updates to clinical stakeholders, including case managers and treatment providers, through emails and phone calls.
  • Navigate challenges through interpersonal communication/collaboration – working with the network within CBI, but also developing lasting relationships with various funders, employers and case managers.
  • Network with other treatment providers to provide a safe and sustainable platform for return to work.
  • Work with a client profile that can range from acute strains/sprains, orthopedic injuries, chronic pain, to cognitive and/or mood-related disorders.
  • Prepare and submit initial, progress and discharge reports in-line with program and contract standards.

Here's what you'll need to be successful:

  • As a successful Kin Candidate: Have an undergraduate degree in kinesiology or human kinetics, with a minimum of one-year of clinical experience. Preference will be given to those with experience in return-to-work coordination and support. Kins must also be registered with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK).

OR

  • As a successful OT candidate: Graduation from a recognized School of Occupational Therapy, and registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.
  • Have excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Be seeking a challenging but rewarding opportunity to continue to build a growing practice.
  • Be comfortable working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, physicians, etc.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be empathetic with an effective ability to build rapport with patients.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of medical conditions, disability management, and appropriate exercise prescription and progression.
  • Have a reliable vehicle for use with appropriate insurance.
