Job summary

Metric Engineering, Inc. is seeking Part-Time Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) Operators to work 12-hour overnight shifts in the Central Florida area.

The RTMC monitors ITS devices, coordinates with partner agencies, and dispatches Road Rangers to promote fast incident clearance using FDOT software. Applicants should be capable of 24/7 coverage, enjoy teamwork, and have strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work 12 hours overnight shifts (6pm-6am).
• Ability to work 24/7 shifts, including weekdays and weekends.
• Proficient computer skills and fast-paced multitasking.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Pass a Drug Screen and FBI Background check.
• Dispatch and customer service or first responder experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor ITS devices and roadways in the Central Florida area.
• Coordinate with partnering agencies to expedite incident response.
• Dispatch Road Rangers and manage traffic signal operations.
• Use customized FDOT software to monitor conditions and traveler information.
• Support 24/7 operations and rapid decision-making during incidents.

Job description

Metric Engineering is looking to hire Part-Time Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) Operators to work overnight shifts. The RTMC utilizes Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices such as cameras and dynamic message signs to monitor the roadways and provide traveler information in the greater Central Florida area. The RTMC Operator coordinates with partnering agencies to expedite response to incidents and promote quick clearance. The TMC dispatches Road Rangers and works with cutting edge technology including traffic signals, Connected Vehicles (CV), freeway management, arterial roadway management, express lanes and more. Operators will monitor and manage the roads using customized softwarefor the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

• Must be able to work various shifts on weekdays and weekends as operations are 24/7
• Applicants must have the ability to work 12 hours overnight shifts (6pm-6am), 2 shifts per week
• Proficient computer skills are a must
• Ability to work in a team, prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

• Must be able to pass a Drug Screen and FBI Background check
