Job summary

Metric Engineering LLC is hiring part-time Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) Operators for the 9:45pm – 6:15am shift to monitor Central Florida roadways using ITS devices and FDOT software. You will coordinate with partnering agencies to speed incident response and support quick clearance, while working with Road Rangers and advanced traffic management technologies.

Ideal candidates have strong computer skills, teamwork ability, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work various shifts on weekdays and weekends (Friday – Sunday) as operations are 24/7.
• Proficient computer skills are a MUST.
• Ability to work in a team, prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to pass a Drug Screen and FBI Background check.
• Dispatch, customer service and first responder experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage ITS devices such as cameras and dynamic message signs.
• Coordinate with partnering agencies to expedite incident response and promote quick clearance.
• Operate and monitor the RTMC software used by FDOT to manage traffic and traveler information.
• Assist in dispatching Road Rangers and support traffic management operations.

Metric Engineering is looking to hire Part-Time Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) Operators for the 9:45pm – 6:15am shift. The RTMC utilizes Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices such as cameras and dynamic message signs to monitor the roadways and provide traveler information in the greater Central Florida area. The RTMC Operator coordinates with partnering agencies to expedite response to incidents and promote quick clearance. The TMC dispatches Road Rangers and works with cutting edge technology including traffic signals, Connected Vehicles (CV), freeway management, arterial roadway management, express lanes and more. Operators will monitor and manage the roads using customized software for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
