Seton Catholic Schools is a network of K-8 parish schools in Milwaukee. There are currently 15 schools serving 3,500 students in the network. Role Summary

The Response to Intervention (RtI) Teacher is responsible for providing targeted instructional interventions in reading and/or math. The RtI Teacher works collaboratively with classroom teachers, school administrators, and network staff to design and implement intervention plans that meet the diverse needs of students in a K-8 setting.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Assessment And Identification

  • Conduct screening assessments to identify students in need of additional academic support.
  • Analyze data from assessments and classroom performance to determine students’ specific needs.
  • Monitor student progress through frequent formative assessments and adjust interventions as necessary.

Instructional Interventions

  • In collaboration with the academic team, develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on students’ specific needs.
  • Provide direct instruction to small groups or individual students in areas such as reading, mathematics, and other core subjects.
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate interventions into the regular classroom setting when possible.

Collaboration And Communication

  • Work closely with classroom teachers, network staff, and school administrators to support student learning.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child’s progress and strategies to support learning at home.

Documentation And Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, intervention plans, and assessment data.

Professional Development

  • Stay current with best practices and research in the field of RtI and instructional interventions.
  • Participate in and lead professional development opportunities related to RtI, differentiated instruction for teachers.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, Reading, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience.
  • Experience with RtI processes and implementing academic interventions preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using technology and educational software for assessment and instruction.

Physical Demands: This position requires physical skills that will allow the employee to work in a typical office setting, such as standing, sitting, talking and listening on the phone, and moving between offices and buildings.
