Job Location: McPherson - McPherson, KS

Description

RT Level II Technician with conventional/CR/DR experience preferred. Position will pay per diem.

The NDE Technician will perform calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and record results. Level II Technicians are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment, interpret, and evaluate results according to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. They are familiar with the scope and limitations of the NDT methods used and are responsible for on-the-job training and guidance of Assistants and Level I Technicians.

Level II Technicians organize and report results of NDT.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
  • Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods.
  • Establish proper examination techniques, ensuring safety regulations are followed.
  • Apply testing criteria based on specifications or standards and evaluate results.
  • Interpret radiographs, CRT or digital readouts, conductivity meters, and visual indicators.
  • Organize and report test results.
  • Perform specialized inspections.
  • May instruct and supervise others.

Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.

Experience and Requirements
  • NDT Level II RT with OJT and state certification.
  • Preferred certifications: NDT Level II MT, PT, UTT.
  • Technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
  • Ability to perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret inspection results.
  • Knowledge of NDT equipment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Complete and pass a DISA background check.
  • Complete and pass all required drug screens and site-specific safety training.
  • Must test out in all required methods with XCEL.
