Provides respiratory therapeutic and diagnostic care to patients according to established standards and practices in critical care, general care, and emergency care areas. Performs electrocardiogram and other related examinations for patients as directed.
Education Required: High School Diploma or GED required. Must have graduated from a CoArc-accredited program. Current licensure by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy. Current licensure through the National Board of Respiratory Care.
License, Certification, and/or Registration: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP. ACLS, PALS, and NRP must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Experience: One to two years of clinical experience, which may include experience gained while attending a respiratory therapy program.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
