Position Overview
We are currently looking for an RT Crane Operator with experience in operating rough terrain (RT) cranes during plant outages. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating RT cranes to support maintenance, construction, and turnaround activities at client facilities during scheduled outages. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, with the potential for travel and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities
- Operate rough terrain (RT) cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment during plant outages.
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure crane operations are safe, efficient, and meet project requirements.
- Perform pre-operational inspections of the crane, including checking fluid levels, tires, brakes, and safety devices.
- Rig loads and determine load capacities, boom angles, and lift configurations based on load charts and job requirements.
- Communicate with ground personnel using hand signals, radio, or other means to coordinate crane movements.
- Monitor weather conditions and external factors impacting crane operations, taking appropriate risk mitigation actions.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to prevent accidents and property damage.
- Maintain accurate records of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid NCCCO certification.
- 1-3 years of experience operating RT cranes, preferably in industrial plant outages.
- Strong understanding of crane operation principles, load charts, rigging techniques, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in rigging standards (ASME, OSHA), calculating sling angles, tensions, and determining center of gravity.
- Experience in selecting rigging capacities and creating critical lift plans.
- Ability to follow lift plans accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Effective communication skills.
- Attention to safety and detail.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overtime.
- Willingness to travel out of state for extended periods.
- Ability to pass fit for duty assessment, drug test, and background check.
