Position Summary

The Pump Mounter will handle pump installation and chassis prep as daily tasks. The role includes configuring a workable driveline layout to work with the pump placement, adjusting the chassis to accommodate other equipment, and welding steel using MIG welding to mount and adjust the chassis as needed.

Essential Functions

• Installs pump to fire apparatus.
• Configures a workable driveline layout.
• Adjusts chassis to accommodate other equipment.
• Welds steel using MIG welding to mount and adjust chassis.
• Utilizes basic hand tools, a bandsaw, wrenches, and an iron worker to complete objectives.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management.

Qualifications

• Knowledge: High school diploma or GED required; experience in welding and metal fabrication preferred.
• Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Math: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Abilities:
  • Knowledge of basic inspection tools and machining skills.
  • Able to recognize the importance of and adhere to all safety policies.
  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and a tape measure.

• Local travel; no overnight or prolonged travel required.
