POSITION SUMMARY

The Pump Mounter will handle pump installation and chassis preparation as daily tasks. They will configure a workable driveline layout to work with the pump placement, adjust the chassis to accommodate the placement of other equipment, and weld steel using MIG welding to mount and adjust chassis as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Installs pump to fire apparatus.
• Configures a workable driveline layout.
• Adjusts chassis to accommodate the placement of other equipment.
• Welds steel, using MIG welding to mount and adjust chassis as needed.
• Utilizes basic hand tools, band saw, wrenches, and Iron Worker to complete objectives as needed.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Experience in welding and metal fabrication preferred.

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Abilities

• Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
• Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and tape measure.
