Qualifications

The Grounds & Golf team seeks a dedicated groundskeeper to maintain private residences. The role involves caring for lawns, ornamental plants, trees, walkways, and other outdoor areas, performing irrigation checks, tool maintenance, and communicating with homeowners.

Primary Responsibilities

• Clean, trim, weed, water, and maintain grass and plants at contracted private residences.
• Clean and care for walkways, lanais, and other outside areas.
• Responsible for the growth and care of ornamental plants, trees, and grass.
• Trim small trees and shrubs using hand or power equipment.
• Plant or remove grass, ground cover, and plants.
• Operate vehicle or cart and pick up trash or debris.
• Check irrigation regularly to ensure proper working order; make minor repairs or report problems.
• Responsible for the proper use and maintenance and care of tools and equipment.
• May care for indoor plant rentals when applicable.
• Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
• Perform duties following safety procedures and policies.
• Assist in special projects.
• Secure the residence after service.
• Communicate with homeowners and refer inquiries to manager.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Other Duties

• Assist other positions in the department.
• Ensure all equipment is returned at the end of the day, cleaned, and in working order.

Working Conditions

• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Travel to various homes throughout the resort.

Work Hours

• Must be able to work shifts and days determined by the manager.
• Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week, when needed.

Equipment Use

• Utility vehicle to travel to work area.
• Various landscape maintenance hand tools such as sickle, lopper, hoe, shovel, rake, pruner, knife, ladder, sprayer, fertilizer spreader, wrench, pliers, weeding tools, trash cart, wheel barrow.
• Various power equipment such as lawn mowers, weedeater, edger, blower, power saw, and hedge trimmer.

Mental and Physical Demands

• Ability to work outdoors in the sun and/or wind for most of the shift.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, kneel for most of the shift.
• Ability to use hand and power tools during most of the shift.
• Ability to do strenuous physical work such as trimming, digging, or planting.
• Lift, carry, push/pull equipment, tools, plants, or trash weighing up to 50 lbs.

Communication Demands

• Must have the ability to communicate verbally to employees, managers, homeowners, and guests.
• Valid driver’s license; license required to operate company vehicle/equipment.
• Safely operate vehicles.
