High School Diploma or GED required. 1 year of painting experience.
Position Purpose
The Aircraft Painter I prepares aircraft for paint operations by performing tasks safely, on schedule, and meeting quality standards.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Mask, sand, and prepare aircraft for painting.
  2. Apply glazing and sealing compounds in preparation for final painting.
  3. Operate and maintain preparation and priming equipment; mix paints and primers.
  4. Perform leading edge sealant work in final detail.
  5. Follow all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use personal protective equipment; protect aircraft interior (PTP).
Additional Functions:
  1. Care for and maintain shop equipment and tools.
  2. Follow paint shop standard practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
  1. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  2. Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
  3. Pass Pulmonary Function Test for respirator certification.
  4. Use tools, equipment, and materials; climb ladders and stairs; perform close tolerance work; work in small spaces; lift up to 40 pounds; work any shift.
  5. Must be computer literate.
  6. Knowledge of paint processes and products (lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics).
