(RRT) Respiratory Therapist (Full-Time/Night) Torresdale

Job Details

The Registered Respiratory Therapist administers respiratory therapy procedures to examine, diagnose, and treat patients with respiratory and pulmonary disorders. The Respiratory Therapist assesses patient condition, consults with physicians to determine appropriate treatment plans, monitors patient progress following procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, documents all patient care activities, and ensures compliance with quality standards and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff in accordance with Jefferson's values.
  • Administer physician-prescribed respiratory therapies, including oxygen, medications, PFTs, ABGs, and mechanical ventilation.
  • Perform evaluation procedures to determine respiratory care needs and recommend appropriate interventions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Monitor patients on mechanical ventilation, including assessments, troubleshooting, weaning, airway care, and diagnostics.
  • Collect and analyze sputum, blood, and breath specimens for diagnosis.
  • Provide diagnostic results and treatment suggestions based on analyses.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members for coordinated patient care.
  • Ensure smooth operation of PFT and ABG labs or other assigned duties.
