Job summary

LongTerm Healthcare seeks an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide on-site respiratory care consulting to healthcare facilities. The role focuses on evaluating practices, educating staff, and supporting compliance with best practices.

The consultant will work with facility leadership and clinical teams to recommend improvements, deliver trainings, and help enhance patient outcomes through evidence-based respiratory care.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Active state respiratory therapy license.
• Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge of respiratory care practices.
• Experience in acute care, long-term care, LTACH, skilled nursing, or home respiratory care preferred.
• Excellent communication and education skills.
• Ability to work independently and interact professionally with healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite respiratory care consulting support to healthcare facilities.
• Review respiratory care practices, policies, and procedures.
• Assess respiratory therapy needs and recommend improvements.
• Provide education and training to nursing and clinical staff.
• Support proper use of respiratory equipment, including oxygen therapy, nebulizers, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilator-related care.
• Review documentation and assist with quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with facility leadership to improve respiratory care outcomes.
• Provide guidance on respiratory protocols, safety practices, and regulatory expectations.
• Identify opportunities to improve patient care, efficiency, and staff competency.
