Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our Augusta, GA team. This role involves patient assessments, performing respiratory care procedures, and delivering education to patients and families.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care in adult units. Responsibilities include blood gas analysis, equipment maintenance, and adherence to clinical protocols.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences required.
• Previous working experience in respiratory care preferred.
• National board certification (RRT) and Georgia license required; Basic Life Support and ACLS certifications expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and respiratory care procedures in adult care areas.
• Conduct blood gas analysis and manage respiratory equipment.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory therapies and care.
• Maintain and monitor all respiratory therapy equipment and protocols.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Performing patient assessments, general respiratory care procedures and protocols, critical care procedures in adult care areas, blood gas analysis, maintenance and management of all equipment and patient education.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Previous Working Experience in Respiratory care, or successful completion of department specific orientation including skills validation of competencies for the duties and responsibilities of this level.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care and Licensed by the State of Georgia under the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS. Must be actively practicing and maintaining all required competencies.
