Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist to support patient care across our dynamic facility. You’ll perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures and collaborate with the care team to maintain high-quality outcomes.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of acute care experience, Texas license as a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner, and current registration. This PRN role offers scheduling flexibility and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1 year in an acute care facility preferred.
• Education: Graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Special qualifications: Texas license as a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner and current registration.

Responsibilities

• Assessing respiratory status by focused exams and interpreting findings.
• Delivering oxygen therapy, aerosols, airway clearance, and other treatments.
• Managing ventilation and artificial airways across settings.
• Educating patients and families and coordinating with physicians and nurses.
• Maintaining respiratory equipment and ensuring infection-prevention standards.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Respiratory Therapist,you’llplay an essential role in guiding patients through both routine care and critical moments.You’llperform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while managing invasive and noninvasive ventilation across a variety of care settings.You’llhave access to advanced respiratory technology, mentorship from experienced RT leaders, and the support of a dependable, collaborative team that will set you up for success and ongoing professional growth. Your role will include:

• Assessing respiratory statusby performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, anddeterminingthe need for respiratory interventions.
• Deliveringevidence-based therapyby providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Managing ventilation and airwaysbyassistingwith artificial airway placement,initiatingand adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation,monitoringpatientresponses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.
• Supporting patients and the care teamby educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.
• Maintainingequipment and safetyby setting up,operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.

What qualifications you will need:

• Experience: Prefer 1 year experience as a therapist in an acute care facility
