Job summary

Lafayette Regional Health Center in Missouri is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) PRN to join our dedicated team. You will provide diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care, including ventilation support across multiple care settings, with access to advanced equipment and mentorship from experienced RT leaders.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support.
• NBRC-RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist).
• RRT/RCP-State certification as Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner.
• Associate Degree required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status and perform focused exams; interpret breath sounds and airway patency.
• Provide oxygen, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other therapies.
• Assist with invasive and noninvasive ventilation and monitor patient responses.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Respiratory Therapist,you’llplay an essential role in guiding patients through both routine care and critical moments.You’llperform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while managing invasive and noninvasive ventilation across a variety of care settings.You’llhave access to advanced respiratory technology, mentorship from experienced RT leaders, and the support of a dependable, collaborative team that will set you up for success and ongoing professional growth. Your role will include:

• Assessing respiratory statusby performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, anddeterminingthe need for respiratory interventions.
• Deliveringevidence-based therapyby providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Managing ventilation and airwaysbyassistingwith artificial airway placement,initiatingand adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation,monitoringpatientresponses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.
• Supporting patients and the care teamby educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.
• Maintainingequipment and safetyby setting up,operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.
