Job summary

Mercy Hospital Washington in Missouri is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a full-time night shift. The RT will provide comprehensive respiratory care, consult physicians, and act as a resource for the care team in an acute care setting.

Minimum qualifications include MO license, NBRC credentials, BLS/CPR, and graduation from an accredited RT program. Preference for ICU/acute care experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current Missouri license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• CRT or RRT NBRC credential.
• BLS/CPR certification is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary and respiratory disorders.
• Administer respiratory treatments, therapies, and medications per physician orders.
• Manage oxygen therapy and airway support interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and adjust as needed.
• Educate patients and families regarding respiratory conditions, treatments, and equipment usage.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to safety standards.
• Support emergency respiratory care and critical patient interventions when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

• Current Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current BLS/CPR Certification
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program

Preferred:

• Previous acute care, hospital, ICU, emergency department, or critical care experience
• Strong communication and patient education skills
