Job summary

HireArt is assisting an on-demand autonomous ride-hailing company in Las Vegas to hire Readiness and Response Operators. You will prepare vehicles for daily service, respond to on-road recovery events, and support fleet operations for a public-facing autonomous vehicle service. The role emphasizes safety, technical aptitude, and calm performance under pressure. You will use remote input tools, run checks, and coordinate with riders and cross-functional teams to maintain uptime and quality.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in fleet operations or similarly fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to follow complex procedures accurately under pressure.
  • Proficient with terminal commands, mobile devices, and remote operation tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-service and post-service readiness checks, including mechanical inspections and sensor verification.
  • Respond to in-field vehicle incidents and coordinate safe recovery and repositioning.
  • Operate autonomous vehicles using approved remote input tools to support recovery and movement.
  • Assist riders during recovery events with safe entry and exit and clear updates.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and passenger readiness during shifts.
  • Document incidents and vehicle status updates in real time.
  • Support vehicle movement and storage across multiple sites.
  • Participate in new market launches and readiness inspections.

Job description

HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire Readiness and Response Operators to support vehicle readiness, field response, and fleet operations for its public-facing autonomous vehicle service.

In this role, you'll prepare vehicles for daily service, respond to on-road recovery events, support riders, troubleshoot technical issues, and help maintain fleet safety, quality, and uptime. You'll also support vehicle logistics, remote vehicle movement, and new market launch activities as needed.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, technically capable, and comfortable working in fast-paced field environments. You remain calm under pressure, follow detailed procedures accurately, and provide professional support to riders and cross-functional teams.

Training Schedule (First 8 Weeks)

  • AM Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • PM Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
(Training shift assigned based on business needs.)

Available Shifts (After Training)
  • 1st Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:30 PM - 8:00 AM

As a Readiness and Response Operator - 2, you'll:
  • Perform detailed pre-service and post-service readiness checks, including mechanical inspections, sensor verification, and required data-processing procedures.
  • Respond to in-field vehicle incidents and coordinate safe recovery, repositioning, extraction, loading, and unloading activities.
  • Operate autonomous vehicles using approved remote input tools to support recovery, repositioning, and movement through complex environments.
  • Assist riders during recovery events by supporting safe vehicle entry and exit, providing clear updates, and maintaining a professional customer experience.
  • Support riders and the public at pick-up and drop-off locations by answering questions and providing light concierge assistance.
  • Use terminal commands, internal applications, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot system blockers, power cycle hardware, and flash vehicle firmware.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and passenger readiness through interior and exterior detailing.
  • Manage vehicle charging activities and help maintain charging and service infrastructure.
  • Support vehicle movement and storage across multiple sites.
  • Assist with new market launches, including vehicle deployment, site organization, and readiness inspections.
  • Track and replenish cleaning supplies, passenger amenities, minor hardware, and other fleet consumables.
  • Document incidents, technical issues, recovery activities, and vehicle status updates accurately and in real time.
  • Support both service fleet and test fleet operations as business needs require.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in fleet operations, logistics, hospitality, aviation ground operations, emergency response, customer service, or a similarly fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to follow complex procedures accurately while responding with urgency
  • Comfort using terminal commands, mobile devices, laptops, internal applications, and remote vehicle operation tools
  • A valid driver's license with a clean or excellent driving record
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations and unexpected roadside events
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to pass a background check, Motor Vehicle Record check, and drug screen
  • Ability to comply with the company's Substance Abuse Policy
  • This role will require safety boots that conform to ASTM F2412/F2413 requirements

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach throughout the shift
  • Ability to work in workshop, fleet, and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with precision driving in high-traffic urban environments
  • Experience supporting autonomous vehicles, fleet operations, roadside response, or vehicle recovery
  • Experience troubleshooting vehicle hardware, software, or firmware
Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Las Vegas, NV area.
