Job summary

Lorien in Mount Holly, North Carolina seeks an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot to lead VLOS and BVLOS UAS missions as Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC). The role emphasizes flight safety, regulatory compliance, mission planning, and adherence to approved CONOPS.

Qualifications

• 6 months RPIC or crew experience in complex UAS ops.
• Strong understanding of airspace, weather, emergency procedures and risk mitigation.
• Ability to operate within approved CONOPS and waivers.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate UAS per FAA Part 107 and approved waivers.
• Interpret NOTAMs and weather data for mission planning.
• Maintain VLOS when required and BVLOS under approved CONOPS.
• Conduct pre-, in-flight, and post-flight inspections.
• Coordinate with observers, clients, and airspace authorities.
• Log flights, maintenance, and incident reports.
• Troubleshoot UAS hardware and software issues.
• Travel to remote or industrial locations as needed.
