Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced RPG Programmer to support and enhance a cloud-hosted IBM i (AS/400) environment. This role maintains existing applications, troubleshoots production issues, and drives ongoing enhancement projects after a key programmer's departure. The ideal candidate works independently across legacy and modern IBM i technologies to understand code quickly and implement impactful changes with minimal oversight. The position offers $83–$85 hourly.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting IBM i / AS400 / iSeries environments.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and DB2.
• Familiarity with 5250 Emulator and IBM Rational Developer for i (RDi) or similar tools.
• Experience with Integrated File System (IFS) and modern source control practices.

Our client is seeking an experienced RPG Programmer to support and enhance a cloud-hosted IBM i (AS400) environment. This individual will step into a critical role following the departure of a key programmer and will be responsible for maintaining existing applications, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting ongoing enhancement projects.

The ideal candidate is a highly independent problem solver who can navigate legacy and modern IBM i technologies, understand existing code quickly, and make impactful changes with minimal oversight. For this position we are paying between $83-85 an hour.
