Job description

When working in Hawaii, it is essential to understand Hawaiian culture and the spirit of ‘ohana, or ‘family,’ in addition to learning the functional aspects of hotel operations such as bed-making and luggage handling. Our team participated in Hawaiian culture training to gain a deeper understanding of what ‘ohana truly means.

At Hyatt, we believe our guests choose Hyatt because of our caring and attentive associates who focus on providing efficient service and meaningful experiences.

The Royale Room, located inside the Thompson and Tommie Austin, two premier lifestyle hotels in Downtown Austin, is a new concept featuring indoor dining space that serves both hotel guests and residents.

Bartenders are responsible for preparing beverages and offering personalized recommendations. Candidates should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive bar. This role offers opportunities for casual conversation, creativity, and personal style development. Preferred candidates will understand state and local alcohol serving guidelines.

The Hotels

Staying at a Thompson Hotel means being welcomed as a resident. We provide intuitive, tailored service that enhances each guest’s personal travel experience and connects them to the local culture. Thompson's hotels are timeless destinations, creating distinctive experiences that can transform your day, trip, or life. Thompson Austin offers 212 luxury guestrooms and suites, 17 residences, a 10,000 sq ft wellness center, three restaurant and bar concepts, an expansive pool deck with private cabanas, and over 10,000 sq ft of flexible event space.

The 193-king room Tommie Austin is designed for spirited adventurers. Guests are encouraged to explore Austin’s offerings, with art and atmosphere inspired by the surrounding neighborhood. Tommie features a bespoke coffee and wine shop and allows guests to customize their stay while enjoying warm, authentic service.

Both hotels feature a ground-floor cantina-themed restaurant, a 13,000 sq ft indoor/outdoor oasis, and the 5th Street Diner + The Royal Room, a street-side concept serving daily fare for locals, residents, and guests. The project also includes a residential tower – Sienna – retail space, and a 7,000 sq ft state-of-the-art fitness center and simulator room called the “T” Box.

We offer a comprehensive rewards package, including health and welfare plans, a range of financial wellbeing options such as a 401(k) plan, College Saving Plan, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Additional benefits include paid time off, family bonding leave, adoption assistance, discounted and complimentary hotel stays worldwide, free meals during shifts, well-being and educational support, and more.
