Job summary

The University of North Georgia is seeking a Rowing Assistant-Institutional Student Worker at the Dahlonega campus to support the rowing program. The role involves assisting with tryouts, rosters, practices, and competitions, and working a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities include aiding the coach with team administration, record keeping, equipment handling, and trainings while upholding UNG and Lake Lanier Rowing Club policies and safety

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours.
• Experience with competitive rowing teams.
• CPR & First Aid Certification (or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment).
• US Rowing membership or other national rowing association membership (or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment).
• US Rowing Level 1 Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Georgia Boating License (or the ability to obtain within 30 days).

Responsibilities

• Develop an effective working relationship with the coach and team members to assist with the administration of the rowing program.
• Assist with record keeping, team rosters, departmental forms, and social media.
• Assist with equipment inventory, inspections, light maintenance, and storage.
• Assist with team trainings to help members develop skills, teamwork, stamina, and strength.
• Responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures, and risk management protocols of both UNG and Lake Lanier Rowing Club.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
