Roving Substitute Teacher Orientation

New substitutes are required to participate in an orientation - dates to be determined

Daily Pay Rates

Full Day (7.5 hours) = $200.00

Calendar: School Year ESP- 172 days

Reports to: Principal

Full-time or Part-time: Full-time

  • Required- BA/BS from accredited college or university
  • Preferred- Valid Colorado teaching license or Substitute Authorization (3 and 5 year only - 1 year authorizations are not accepted)

Interviews are site-based and not conducted by the Human Resources office.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties and responsibilites are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this positon.   • Translates lesson plans into learning experience as to best utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Demonstrates subject matter concepts and examples using models, technology provided, and teacher- prepared instructional aids.
  • Demonstrates punctuality and good attendance.
  • Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures, including proper use of equipment.
  • Follows appropriate district policies and procedures.
  • Assumes responsibility for instruction, duties, and supervision of students according to assigned position.
  • Demonstrates confidentiality as related to job.
  • Establishes rapport with students and provides a pleasant, safe, and orderly climate conducive to learning.
  • Supervises students in and out of classroom activities during the assigned work day.
  • Effectively manages a classroom by keeping students on task and engaged.
  • Assumes all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher.
  • Maintains a positive learning environment.
  • Leaves feedback and notes for the regular classroom teacher.
  • Demonstrates flexibility to work in a variety of classroom settings.
  • Performs other associated duties as assigned.
