Job summary

Mark-Taylor in Chandler, AZ is hiring a Roving Service Technician to travel between East Valley communities, performing maintenance repairs and assisting onsite teams to keep properties safe and well-maintained.

The role pays a base of $25.00 per hour with a $3.00/hour on-call incentive, plus a $300 monthly vehicle allowance and extra pay for EPA, CPO and OSHA certifications. Strong carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as an apartment maintenance technician.
• Willingness to travel daily to communities throughout the valley.
• EPA certification required.
• CPO, OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications preferred.
• Basic computer skills and written/verbal English.

Responsibilities

• Travel to Mark-Taylor communities to assist as needed.
• Assist daily maintenance tasks including work orders, groundskeeping, and make-ready duties.
• Complete make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintain adequate stock.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry and drywall.
• Perform preventive maintenance on vacant units.
• Perform daily pool care and ensure chemical balance and safety.
• Perform minor roof repairs, re-key locks and cut keys.
• Inspect property for safety hazards and report to Facilities and Service.
• Monitor inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.

Compensation

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $25.00/hr.
• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
• Eligible for $300.00 monthly vehicle allowance.
• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications***

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience working as an apartment maintenance technician in the Property Management industry is required.
• Willingness to travel daily to different community locations throughout the valley ($300 vehicle allowance provided).
• Above average knowledge in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards.
• EPA certification required.
• CPO, OSHA 10, and OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

In This Role You Will:

• Travel to various communities in the Mark-Taylor Portfolio, providing assistance as needed.
• Provide assistance to onsite teams in the daily maintenance tasks including work orders, groundskeeping, and make-ready duties.
• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
• Trouble-shoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, assures pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys.
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and corrects the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
