Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a detail‑oriented team member for our on‑site manufacturing facility in the United States. The role focuses on maintaining product safety and quality across all duties, making boxes, ensuring materials are available, and performing machine clean outs including color and resin changes.

You will also assist in cleaning grinders, manage waste, train as a fork truck operator, and keep printers and labelers properly inked.

Responsibilities

• Has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all the duties listed below
• Make boxes and ensure production has all material needed
• Perform machine clean outs including color changes and resin changes
• Assist in cleaning out plugged grinders
• Remove production waste and place in the appropriate marked containers
• Break employees in the department
• Evaluate materials to ensure high quality and conformance with established standards
• Report any food safety and quality problems or concerns
• Maintain ink in printers and labels in labelers
• Un-jam assemblers as needed
• Tape boxes shut, label the boxes, and stack for shipment
• Maintain a clean and safe working area
• Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as necessary
• Will be fork truck certified
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures
