Venterra Realty is seeking a Roving Make Ready Technician to prepare vacant apartments for new residents across assigned communities within a 25-mile radius. You will perform intermediate repairs, plumbing, electrical, HVAC checks, and ensure units meet our Total Quality Make Ready standards.

The role requires prior maintenance experience, EPA certification preferred, and the ability to work independently with attention to detail while supporting the maintenance team and providing on-call

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartments by completing repairs, cleaning, and ensuring features work per TQMR.
• Perform intermediate maintenance tasks: light fixtures, minor plumbing, appliance checks, HVAC PM, drywall patching.
• Assist with painting, carpet cleaning, and exterior touch-ups to meet market-ready standards.
• Maintain inventory, report supply needs, and support work orders and groundskeeping.
• Maintain property cleanliness and curb appeal across grounds, parking, breezeways and common areas.
• Work independently while following standards, with attention to detail and resident satisfaction.
• Provide emergency and on-call maintenance support as needed.
• Travel daily to assigned communities within a typical 25-mile radius.

REPORTS TO: Multisite Make Ready Coordinator

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Roving Make Ready Technician prepares vacant apartment homes for new residents by completing repairs, installations, and inspections. This role ensures all units meet company standards by addressing maintenance needs and supporting the maintenance team as needed. Their work directly impacts resident satisfaction and property appeal. This role is differentiated by an internal Venterra certified intermediate level of plumbing, electrical, appliance and HVAC skills.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare vacant apartments for new residents by completing repairs, cleaning, and ensuring all features are in working order per our Total Quality Make Ready (TQMR) program.
• Perform intermediate level maintenance tasks, including light fixture replacements, minor plumbing repairs, appliance checks, HVAC PM and drywall patching.
• Assist with painting, carpet cleaning, and exterior touch-ups to meet market-ready standards.
• Maintain inventory, report supply needs, and support the maintenance team with work orders and groundskeeping as needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness and curb appeal of the property, including grounds, parking lots, breezeways, amenities, and common areas .
• Work independently while following company standards, demonstrating attention to detail, and maintaining a commitment to resident satisfaction.
• Provide emergency and on-call maintenance support as needed.
• Support the team with other duties as needed to maintain resident satisfaction and property standards.
• In this role, you will travel daily to one of the assigned communities within your region. This will typically not exceed a 25-mile radius of the designated primary location.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• EPA certification preferred.
• Prior experience in make-ready, maintenance, or related field.
• Venterra certification of intermediate level plumbing, electrical, appliance and HVAC skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple unit turns efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to maintaining company standards.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including participation in an on-call rotation.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record required .
• Lifting/carrying (supplies, equipment, etc.):
• Over 75 lbs. Rare need
• 25 – 75 lbs. Occasional need
