Job summary

Westport Properties, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Roving Apartment Maintenance Technician to service our Topeka properties. You will travel between sites handling HVAC, plumbing, electrical, doors and general repairs, ensuring units are safe, clean, and ready for new residents.

This role requires roughly on-call rotations, good problem-solving skills, and a focus on real-world maintenance. Benefits include health, retirement, and time off with opportunities for certification reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Proficient with basic computer tasks for work orders and communication.
• EPA certification preferred or willing to obtain.
• HVAC certification preferred or willing to obtain.
• Able to lift, shovel and move tools and materials; able to get around multiple properties.

Responsibilities

• Travel to different properties to handle maintenance and repairs.
• Fix HVAC, plumbing, electrical, doors, flooring, landscaping, and more.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager for smooth operations.
• Prep units for new residents and provide regular upkeep for existing ones.
• Stay on-call occasionally (about one week every 8 weeks).
• Maintain maintenance logs and assist with snow removal during winter.
