Job summary

Silgan Specialty Packaging in West Virginia is seeking a production associate to support box manufacturing and ensure material readiness for each shift. You will assist with material handling and basic equipment setup to keep production flowing smoothly.

The role involves machine clean outs, color and resin changes, waste removal, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace while following all safety and quality standards. Training for forklift certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Make boxes and ensure production has all material needed.
• Perform machine clean outs including color changes and resin changes.
• Assist in cleaning out plugged grinders.
• Remove production waste and place in the appropriate marked containers.
• Break employees in the department.
• Evaluate materials to ensure high quality and conformance with established standards.
• Report any food safety and quality problems or concerns.
• Maintain ink in printers and labels in labelers. Un-jam assemblers as needed.
• Tape boxes shut, label the boxes, and stack for shipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area.
• Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as necessary.
• Will be fork truck certified
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures
