Lake Washington School District is looking for Custodial Rovers to maintain cleanliness and safety within school facilities. This role involves working flexible hours, communicating with site administrators, and ensuring a pleasant environment for students and staff.

8 hours per day. 12 month working calendar. Shift: Varies / Shift subject to change. Location: Varies per shift. Hourly Rate: $31.29 (SC5Custodians25-26 salary schedules). This position is eligible for membership in the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 286.
Custodial Rovers will be under the direction of the Custodial Supervisor(s), working flexible hours for either a day or night shift. They will communicate with district and site administrators regarding the care, cleaning, and maintenance of the school facility; perform custodial activities during a day or night shift at an assigned Lake Washington School District facility to maintain buildings, office space, and grounds. Custodial Rovers will be responsible for sanitation, maintenance, safety, comfort, and security of school or district buildings to create and maintain a safe and pleasant environment for students and staff.
For an 8‑hour workday, "Occasionally" = 1–33%; "Frequently" = 34–66%; "Continuously" = 67–100%. Occasionally: sit, lift, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Frequently: lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs.; bend, squat, crawl, climb, and reach above shoulder level and twist. Additionally, work requires repetitive action such as grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation with both hands. Continuously: walk and stand. Occasional exposure to unprotected heights, dust, fumes, gases, commercial-strength chemicals, temperature and humidity changes, and moving machinery. On average, the job requires 65% walking, 20% standing, and 15% sitting.
Per Trades Agreement 2025‑2028 Section B.1.8 (Filling of Vacant Positions), this position is open to internal district direct transfers for a one (1) week (6/2/26). If after one week there are no transfer‑qualified candidates, the district will consider other applicants who have applied for this position.
