Job summary

Venturi Astrolab, Inc. in Hawthorne, California seeks a Rover Control Systems Engineer to join Software Engineering. You will define and optimize control system architecture for rover platforms, aligning with vehicle and subsystem requirements.

The role involves building simulations, validating designs, and collaborating with hardware and software teams to translate prototypes into flight-ready code, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field.
• 5+ years of robotic control system development.
• Experience building, testing, and validating control system simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Define control system requirements from vehicle and subsystem level functional and performance requirements.
• Support design, development, tune, verification, and validation of vehicle control systems.
• Build system simulations for controller design, analysis and tuning using MATLAB, Simulink, Python.
• Design and prototype controllers with simulations and control system design tools.
• Support sizing and selection of sensors, actuators, and related components.
• Analyze and tune controller performance, stability, and robustness with simulations and test data.
• Develop control system documentation and translate prototypes into flight code with testing.
• Support calibration of integrated hardware/robotic control systems.
