Job summary

Helix Energy Solutions Group is seeking a ROV Pilot Technician I to manage offshore ROV operations. Candidates should have at least one year of offshore ROV/Trenching experience and demonstrate competence as per IMCA standards.

Responsibilities include performing ROV operations, maintaining project records, and ensuring safety in the work environment. All applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. and hold necessary certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of offshore ROV/Trenching experience.
• Meet IMCA competence criteria as a Pilot/Technician Grade 1.
• Possess current HUET/BOSIET, medical certification, Safe Gulf and passport.

General Description

• Minimum 1 year of offshore ROV/Trenching experience.
• Offshore operation, data recording, maintenance and repair of the ROV/Trenching/ROVDrill system and ancillary equipment under the direction of the Superintendent/Supervisor.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Perform ROV operations as instructed and in accordance with approved procedures and Canyon QHSE Policy and Objectives.
• Stock‑taking and inventory control of system spares and consumables.
• Maintain system and project records (inventory, weekly reports, dive logs, video logs, etc.) under the direction of the Superintendent or Supervisor.
• Conduct and maintain records of maintenance in compliance with Canyon Offshore Maintenance System.
• Ensure work area and equipment are kept clean and safe.
• Carry out other tasks as delegated by Canyon Project Manager or Superintendent/Supervisor.
• Cultivate and maintain a positive attitude.
• Apply safe work ethics.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Competencies

• Meet IMCA competence criteria by satisfactorily completing assessment as a Pilot/Technician Grade 1 with a nominal minimum of 1 year’s offshore experience and 100 hours piloting.
• Possess extensive knowledge of current safety and quality standards as applied to systems and their requirements in an offshore environment.
• Possess current HUET/BOSIET, medical certification, Safe Gulf and passport.
