Job summary

US Foods is seeking a routing specialist in Houston, TX to supervise the routing team and ensure timely, accurate route sequencing. The role analyzes existing routes to boost efficiency and collaborates with sales and warehouse to assess delivery feasibility.

It involves leading weekly routing meetings, generating daily and weekly reports, and maintaining routing software settings. A strong MS Office and routing software aptitude is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to openly communicate with all associates (external and internal).
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access).
• Ability to learn to use routing software and GPS tools (XATA).
• Understand and interpret DOT and other regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the router.
• Ensure routes are scheduled and sequenced in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
• Analyze existing routes and drive improved efficiencies.
• Work with sales and warehouse to determine delivery feasibility.
• Lead the weekly Ops/Sales Routing meeting.
• Prepare daily/weekly reports (route changes, sequence changes, new customer requests).
• Maintain routing software system parameters (Roadnet and Mainframe).
• Drive process changes to reduce costs while improving customer satisfaction.
