UniFirst is seeking a Route Trainee in Indianapolis to learn the hands-on skills that lead to a Route Service Representative role. You’ll support daily operations, help with deliveries, and participate in our SCP training program while building a foundation in field-based service.

This entry-level position emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer service as you rotate through route coverage and on-road tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or military service required.
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Meet all DOT requirements, including a physical exam.
• Strong customer service skills; ability to work independently while maintaining teamwork.
• Experience in customer service, route sales, or delivery is a plus.
• Physically able to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Participate in UniFirst’s Service Certificate Program to prep for an RSR role.
• Assist service team by loading/unloading route trucks; start days accurately.
• Deliver clean garments and products to customers and return soiled items.
• Provide route coverage during RSR absences to maintain service standards.
• Operate a company walk-in truck on designated routes, prioritizing safety and customer relationships.
• Engage in indoor/outdoor work requiring energy, accuracy, and safety.
• Support the Service Department’s success through reliable, customer-focused service.
• Maintain a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no nights or weekends.

What Your Role Entails
