Position Summary
The Route Supervisor will manage, train, and develop Route Service Managers (RSMs) and other drivers to service and aggressively expand sales on an assigned set of customers along all routes.
Responsibilities
- Manage, train, and develop RSMs and other drivers.
- Collaborate with the Market General Manager to set goals for RSMs and ensure the team meets those goals.
- Generate and distribute daily and weekly reports for RSMs and other drivers to utilize on routes.
- Train all RSMs and other drivers on policies and procedures, including proper paperwork for opening and closing accounts.
- Maintain knowledge of the operation’s overall financial results and how the drivers impact those results.
- Ensure all drivers are compliant with all DOT and safety rules and regulations.
- Work with the site Manager to ensure that the vehicle fleet is maintained and serviced in a timely and proper manner.
- Maintain contact with dealers to obtain feedback on the quality of service being provided.
- Fill in on routes or hot shots as needed.
- Help load, unload, and count trucks as needed.
- Ride along with different drivers during the week to evaluate training needs and provide feedback to strategize improvements.
- Provide recognition for successes.
- Encourage and train drivers on how to look for new ways to generate gross profit at every stop.
- Create and maintain a culture of shared ideas, open communication, and a positive, strategic, and motivating attitude within the team.
- Follow and fulfill all driver program requirements as specified by management.
- Maintain a current, valid state driver’s license and the ability to operate motor vehicles.
Scope

Work Environment
- Consistent sitting, standing, and walking.
- Requires close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 75 lbs.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
- Exposure to battery warehouse conditions, moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, including toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Exposure to road hazards when operating or riding in a vehicle.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of demonstrated sales, customer service, and delivery experience.
- Prior sales management experience preferred.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to read, write, and compute basic math.
- Strong written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Working knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing, and distribution methods.
- Understanding of state, federal, and interstate commerce regulations.
- Working knowledge of computers or the ability to learn applicable systems.
- Strong training and coaching skills.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or forklift.
- Must have a clean driver’s record and meet all driver qualifications requirements.
