Summary

The primary function of this position is to deliver excellent service to customers while representing the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times. The transportation driver is to comply with all DOT and state regulations as well as all company safety and compliance policies regarding the operation of the 26 ft. straight truck, load weight, hours worked, or service functions. Responsible for servicing assigned accounts efficiently, ensuring customer needs are met for waste pickup and supply delivery.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Plan daily schedule based on customer needs by reviewing paperwork, e.g., manifest, route sheets, provided by the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher.
  • Prepare and load trucks for the day, ensuring supplies are adequate.
  • Pick up waste from customer sites, ensuring proper packaging and compliance with regulations.
  • Provide high-level customer service, communicating issues for resolution.
  • Secure waste, supplies, and equipment before operation.
  • Complete and return all paperwork accurately, including DOT Driver Log if applicable.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip maintenance; report issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment, detail-oriented.
  • Adaptability to weather and environmental conditions.
  • Safety toe work boots with slip-resistant soles and Bluetooth headset.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; related work experience; ability to read maps; professional appearance and attitude.
  • At least two years of customer service experience; route management experience is a plus.
  • Completion of accredited driving school or one year of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with an excellent record; CDL Class “B” preferred.
  • Computer skills; current Medical Examiner’s Certification.
  • Must be 25+ years old with driving experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, exert force as needed.
